Earthquake Update 1 Jan 2012

 

Both properties have survived well despite a long series of earthquakes.

The Penthouse Apartment still has some damage to garden walls, one of which is braced by timberwork. Discussions with insurers are proceeding. Some streets leading to New Brighton are damaged and have roadworks.

The Boathouse Cottage has no internal damage, however it is on a slight lean and there are landscape issues with some cracking to the path, and driveway, the neighbouring wall and pond. We await the results of land reports due in February 2012.

The beach and estuary are both open to watersports. Water is now back to pristine quality.

On this basis if you are prepared to accept slightly reduced amenities, these two homes are available preferably for longer-term bookings i.e minimum 2 weeks.
